Why I am Running
It is my love for Alachua county that moved me to run for county commissioner. I know that this is a great place to live and a great place for families. I want to make life better for the residents of Alachua county by making them more free to make their own choices and leaving more of their own money in their pockets. Alachua county currently is among the most highly taxed counties in Florida and I am going to change that for the better. Too often politicians try to stimulate the economy by picking and choosing some industries to favor over others. I want to encourage businesses to grow by cutting taxes across the board and letting the winners choose themselves.
I know that the people here want a cleaner, greener county and I know we can accomplish that by reducing the regulations that make installing your own solar panels a long and tedious process. Expensive government projects that run over budget and under-deliver on promises cannot have the same impact as a free, fair, and open market.
As a new owner of a small business, I know how daunting it can be to check all the boxes. I want to make the regulatory burden smaller and the process more efficient. I want every person in Alachua county to feel free to start their own business, whether it is a storefront, an online store, or a stall at the local farmer’s market or crafts fair.
